Molecular morphology is an indispensable approach to the study of cells and tissues. Immunohistochemistry, fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH), chromogenic in situ hybridization are today great companions of genomics and proteomics. Recently, the development of the so called imaging proteomics gave more relevance to the morphological analysis.
Moreover, laser capture microdissection allows to choose specific cells or areas of a tissue and to isolate them for following extractions of nucleic acid and proteins.
Michele Menicagli has a long experience in handling human tissues and cells, performing on them all the possible aspects of molecular morphology.
At FPS the histolab represents a terrific support for the genelab and the proteolab.
Michele Menicagli received his Master’s degree in Biological Science and his PhD in Experimental Oncology at the University of Pisa, Italy.
