Alessandro Di Gangi
Alessandro Di Gangi graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa in 2017. He also furthered his education at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, graduating as an honor student in medical sciences in 2018. Subsequently, he completed his residency in Pediatrics at the University of Pisa with a focus on pediatric onco-hematology, culminating in November 2023. Since 2016, Alessandro has been actively involved in both research and clinical activities within the realm of pediatric oncology/hematology. His primary focus has been on hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, cell therapies, and the treatment of solid tumors in pediatric patients. Notably, since May 2023, he has been significantly engaged in research projects concerning osteosarcoma, an aggressive malignant tumor predominantly affecting adolescents and young adults. This disease remains a considerable therapeutic challenge within modern medicine. Alessandro’s primary research interests lie in the study and genomic characterization of circulating cells in osteosarcoma patients. His goal is to identify innovative methods for enhanced patient monitoring and to develop a versatile system for evaluating drug sensitivity, particularly in the realm of personalized medicine.
